The Medical Receptionist role is an opportunity for a medical receptionist to apply their skills in a pediatric urgent care setting and assist with primary patient care based on individual patient needs within their scope of practice under the physician’s direct supervision. This position maintains effective working relationships with all customers, including patients/families, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors.DescriptionJob Responsibilities:Provide clinical support for providers, patients, and office operationsGreet patients warmly as they arriveAccurately obtain and electronically document patient demographic, insurance, and payment informationAnswer phones and route calls to the appropriate partyAssist parent and children in the reception areaVerify eligibility and insurance informationCollect credit card and co-payment informationFax, file, scan necessary paperworkMaintain order and cleanliness of the waiting roomKeep exam rooms and front reception stocked with adequate suppliesHelps patients in distress by promptly notifying medical staff of emergenciesMaintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes to management teamMaintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and proceduresMaintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential in compliance with HIPAA regulationsEnhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and challenging requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentsAssisting patients with complaints and taking an active role in service recovery when neededPerform other administrative, and clinical support duties as neededPer Diem and Part Time positions available!QualificationsTeam player that can function independently in a fast-paced environmentIntermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite.Ability to work flexible work schedules based on office needs.
