Day – 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job. A Brief Overview The Laboratory Services Receptionist performs reception and clerical work in the laboratory. Assists in routine business and operations matters. Locations Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley What you will do Provides support for Clinical Laboratory and Pathology per assignment. Prepares and maintain department personnel schedule and arranging meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. Answers phones promptly, forwards and/or takes accurate messages accordingly. Answers basic laboratory operation procedure questions for patients, staff and physicians. Greets hospital staff and volunteers delivering specimens to the Laboratory. Checks samples in for services per laboratory protocol. Utilizes the Laboratory software application in an efficient, timely manner Receives and processes inpatient specimens and orders. Escalates STAT orders Monitors and audit invoices. Collects and process data for quality reporting Clinical Laboratory and Pathology. Maintains inventory of office supplies and places orders accordingly Supports laboratory management team with a variety of administrative projects. Attends department staff meetings and in-service programs as assigned Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. Education Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Required Associate’s Degree Preferred Experience Qualifications Prior experience as customer service representative Preferred Prior scheduling experience Required Prior healthcare experience Preferred Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and industry Strong computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel Ability to learn new skills as trained Works efficiently with good organizational skills. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $25.00 – $33.00 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
