Summary:The primary role of the Front Desk is to act as the first point of contact for all clinic patients and visitors. Front desk is responsible for greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and readying patient information for appointments as well as ensuring chart accuracy.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist the Patient Advocate with the operation of the clinic, including but not limited to, ensuring satisfactory clinic appearance, adequate stock of supplies and supply availability.Perform insurance verification with all third-party payers. Obtain initial and subsequent pre-authorization for recommended services on all new patients and internal referrals.Help to ensure the smooth running of the clinic.Serve as back-up to the Patient Advocate with tours of the facility, explanation of IVs and free consults as needed.Check patient charts for accuracy and be the final sign off that each chart is complete and correct.Prepare any clinic correspondence.Assist the Patient Advocate with reports.Assist with ordering clinic supplies.Responsible for resolving all billing and insurance issues.Analyze and interpret insurance verifications.Complete various tasks and assignments as needed per management.Skills and Specifications:Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.Positive attitude, patience, warmth and caring for a person.Ability to work with all types of people.Ability to multi-task is a must.Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.Ability to prioritize important tasks is necessary.Knowledge of insurance rules and billing policies/best practices.Education and Qualifications:College degree preferred or substantial and sufficient work- related experience.Patient care experience.At least 1-2 years of related experience a plus.Experience supporting a management officer a plus.Familiarity with the computer and associated programs.Abilities:Speaking xe2x80x93 Talking to others to convey information effectively in English.Active Listening xe2x80x93 Giving full attention to what other people are saying, understanding points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.xc2xa0English Language xe2x80x93 Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.Computers and Electronics xe2x80x93 Knowledge of computers and software and applications, e-mail and programs.Writing xe2x80x93 Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of audience.Time Management xe2x80x93 Managing onexe2x80x99s own and otherxe2x80x99 time.
