Patient Service Representative Job Description Job Title: Receptionist/Clinical Support Department: Clinical Reports to: Chief Operating Officer Effective Date: 10/01/2024 Salary: $17 hr. Summary of Position: The Patient Service Representative will answer the telephone and collect patient information. The representative will schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars. The representative will coordinate communication between patients, clinical staff, and administrative staff. The representative will operate office equipment, such as voicemail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheets, or other software applications to prepare reports and maintain medical records. Knowledge: Expertise in principles and processes of customer service, encompassing needs assessment, service quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation. Proficiency in the structure and content of the English language, including word meanings, spelling, grammar rules, and composition principles. Familiarity with administrative and clerical procedures, encompassing word processing, file and record management, form design, and office terminology. Active Listening xe2x80x93 Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work xe2x80x93 Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work. Processing information xe2x80x93 Compiling, categorizing, and verifying information or data. Task, Responsibilities, & Duties: Answer phones and obtain patient demographics and insurance information. Verify patientxe2x80x99s insurance coverage and collect co-payments/deductibles. Schedule appointments and make reminder calls. Maintain patient data up to date. Maintain medical records. Respond to patient queries and concerns in a professional manner. Clean and maintain office space. Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting. Must Be coachable and open to growth opportunities. Education & Experience: High school Diploma or equivalent Must have at least five years of related experience working in a clinical setting or customer service. Medical Assistants, CNAs, and trade school certifications are encouraged. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
